Happy almost solstice! The days are long, and I’ll keep this email short.
This coming Wednesday, June 22—the day after the solstice—I’ll be at Brower Park in Crown Heights, Brooklyn to do another seed bomb workshop! The event will follow the Brower Park Library (a branch of the Brooklyn Public Library) storytime and all ages are welcome!
I’ve been invited by Solstice Kitchen, which a Field Meridians project. In their own words, “Solstice Kitchen is a non-extractive mobile kitchen powered by the sun: solar cooking, fermentation, dehydration, hand-grinding and rain catchment. During the week of the summer solstice, cooks, educators, and small businesses from the community will be hosting workshops and cooking demonstrations in Brower Park.” I’m so excited to see their solar cooker in action! The whole week of events looks very inspiring. Shout out to my friend LinYee Yuan for helping realizing this vision and inviting me!
Parks, libraries, sunshine, food, and dirt… sound like my kind of party! I hope to see you there 🤎
🕊🤎🪱,
Lauren
P.S. My seed bomb workshops are very mobile! If you’re in the NY or NC and would like me to come to you, I’d love to talk. You can respond to this email or contact me here.
